In respect of the plots of land sold the Chiltern District Council have notified us that in 2006 an Article 4 Direction was granted, removing permitted development rights falling within Class A of Part 2, Schedule 2 of the Town and Country Planning (General Permitted Development) Order 1995 in respect of the erection, construction, maintenance, improvement or alteration of a gate, fence, wall of other means of enclosure and also Class A of Part 5 of Schedule 2 of the Town and Country Planning (General Permitted Development) Order 1995 in respect of the use of land as a caravan site.

By way of explanation, our correspondence with the council states the following:

“This means that any proposals to construct boundary walls and fences to subdivide the land or place caravans on the site will require planning permission. The Article 4 Directions have been confirmed by the Secretary of State and allows local planning authority to exercise control over any such development having regard to the open and rural character of the Green Belt.”
